Our Curriculum
We work in partnerships with parents and use Aistear (the Irish for journey), Ireland’s Early Childhood Curriculum Framework. It guides staff in planning exciting, engaging and pleasurable learning experiences and activities for children. The Aistear programme connects learning across preschool and primary school where it is also used.
Under the themes well-being, identity and belonging, communication and exploring and thinking, the framework puts huge emphasis on the importance of children enjoying and benefiting from early childhood, and its potential adventures and discoveries. Our child-centred curriculum offers children the opportunity to make choices about what, how and whom they want to play. This approach enables children to initiate and direct their own play with the support of our responsive staff, who are always at hand to guide, nurture and extend your child’s learning, development and fun.
